Laminate

Laminate flooring is made of several layers, including a backer core, the design layer and a protective coating. Laminate floors are almost always prefinished and are more stable than hardwood because the do not react as much to temperature and humidity changes.

Laminate floors are usually less expensive than hardwood, is faster to install and is easy to maintain. They can be easily cleaned with a damp mop.

Laminates cannot be refinished, but small areas of damage can be replaced without installing a new floor. Overall wear will require replacement.
